Can the same product solve all problems?Restylane is available in three variations, each one of them designed for a different purpose and effect, such as smoothing fine wrinkle lines, modifying facial contour or sculpting the lips to perfection. The other difference among each one of these variants is the particle size of the gel, which allows us to choose the ideal product to achieve your optimal results.
The correct Restylane product is chosen based on the effects that you want to achieve. The initial treatment will be sustained if follow-through treatments are maintained as well. Product used as a fillerRestylane® is Non-Animal, Stabilized Hyaluronic Acid, or NASHA for short. Hyaluronic acid is a substance that exists naturally in the body. Its original function is in the transport and delivery of water. The advantage that exists with the product, collagen and other products based on hyaluronic acid is that they do not require prior testing to verify that there are no allergies or adverse reactions on some part of the patient’s body. RESTYLANE® has been designed for reducing wrinkles and folds in order to improve the contour of your face and the fullness of your lips. In fact, the treatment can last less than a half hour. The results can be seen immediately and last for 6 to 12 months, depending on the patient and the area involved. What causes wrinkles? The dermis is the outer layer of the skin responsibe for its elasticity and smoothness. The dermis works as the support structure of the skin with collagen, elastin and various biological substances whose primary purpose is to maintain the moisture of your skin. One of these substance is hyaluronic acid. A measure of how we age is the decrease in the quantity of collagen and hyaluronic acid and the sagging of the elastic fibers of elastin and the tendency for bags to form, especially those that result in wrinkles and folds. Nevertheless, aging isn’t the cause of wrinkles. Smoking, sunbathing and pollutants damage the structure of the skin independently of age. What happens during the aging process? Youthful skin is smooth and elastic and contains a large quantity of hyaluronic acid which contributes to its healthy appearance. As we grow older, our skin loses its capacity to produce hyaluronic acid which is when levels of the acid begin to reduce in our skin. And given that hyaluronic acid helps to conserve water, the capacity of the skin to retain water also diminishes with age. As a consequence, the skin becomes drier and more delicate with less capacity for self-renewal. The loss of thickness also means that the skin sags, which is the origen for wrinkles and aged appearance of the skin. |
